Oscar Fontana appointed GM of the Kimpton Vero Beach Hotel & Spa.

Kimpton Vero Beach Hotel & Spa appointed Oscar Fontana to GM of the oceanfront hotel, which is located along Florida’s Treasure Coast.

Fontana brings more than 20 years of industry experience to the property, and most recently held the role of GM of The Kimpton Epic Hotel in Miami – the brand’s flagship property in Florida. His background includes roles leading other luxury and lifestyle hotels in the U.S. and Caribbean.

“I am thrilled for the opportunity to take the helm of this extraordinary, award-winning property that is a favorite among discerning travelers and the local community alike,” Fontana said in a statement. “It is my goal to motivate our team members and connect with every guest as they arrive to bring the distinctive experience that only Kimpton can deliver.”

In his new role, Fontana brings passion and a work ethic to inspire and motivate his team. His mission is to elevate the overall guest experience at the hotel while overseeing all property operations including hotel programming and services, marketing and sales, revenue management and employee relations.

Fontana is Six Sigma Black Belt certified, and has led trainings to help others on the path to certification. When he isn’t leading the team at Vero Beach Hotel & Spa, Fontana is an avid swimmer, and has been mastering the sport since he was 7 years old. He applies the lessons and successes he’s achieved as a swimmer, as well as a swimming coach, to his career in hospitality – ensuring he is listening to his team, managing with respect and helping guide his employee’s career paths.
